Bug-Out-Bags

As you research the options that are best for you and your family members, we encourage you to prayerfully seek guidance to know which bag(s) will best meet your needs. There is no one perfect bag for everyone!

Can you think of other ways to organize all your items? If you have an infant, maybe putting together a bag with just the baby items will work best for you. There are so many ways to organize your emergency items, chose a way that works for you. You can always re-organize it, as needed.

When we strive to organize ourselves and prepare ”every needful thing,” we'll be blessed with peace of mind (Doctrine and Covenants 109:8).

BACKPACK & DUFFEL BAG OPTION: for a single adult

Consider two bug out bags - a backpack for basic items, and a duffel bag just for shelter and clothing.

Backpack between 40-45Liters is a good size to fit all the items on the Basic & Custom Kit lists (minus the Shelter & Clothing items). Make sure the it is of good quality, thick material with reinforced stitching.

Duffel Bag approx. 40Liters or larger is a good size for the Shelter & Clothing items.

TIP: Keep your receipt(s) and don't remove any tags until you know all the items that you need will fit into the bags. You may need to return the bag for a different size.
