In Sacramento County, general public warning information can come from the following sources according to the Sacramento County Evacuation Plan, 2018:

Local broadcast media (although not inclusive) includes TV and Radio.

TV Channels: 3, 10, 13, & Fox40 (KTXL);

Radio Stations: AM Radio – 1530 KFBK and 650 KSTE; FM Radio – 88.9 KXJZ).

If local radio stations are not able to broadcast due to a severe or prolonged power outage, residents should be directed to tune to one of the FEMA Primary Entry Point (PEP) stations within broadcast radius of Sacramento County. PEP stations have been hardened against certain threats and have backup transmitters, power generation and fuel systems. The three PEP stations covering Sacramento County are:

• KCBS – San Francisco [106.9 FM and 740 AM]

• KKOH – Reno [780 AM]

• KMJ – Fresno [580 AM and 105.9 FM]
